Title: SGRO DENIES LINK TO SECURITY PROBE

Byline: BY BILL RODGERS, TOM GODFREY, PARLIAMENTARY BUREAU
Outlet: The Ottawa Sun

Immigration Minister Judy Sgro angrily denied that a national security
probe into her office is under way.

The Sun reported yesterday the probe was triggered by Sgro's office
hiring a senior staffer linked to the Tamil Tigers, a terror group
banned in Canada.

"These allegations are absurd and unfounded," Sgro shot back yesterday.
"It's something like what you would see in the National Enquirer."

Alberta Tory MP Rob Anders brought up the story in the House, demanding
Sgro resign.

"This minister is no longer just an international embarrassment, she is
now a security threat," he said.

Sgro also came under fire for extending the stay of a Romanian stripper
who worked on her election campaign.

Meanwhile, a police officer close to the office investigation said it's
only a matter of time before charges are laid.
