You're right, Don. Sometimes being a Liberal in Canada looks like having only one goal - getting re-elected regardless of the moral cost.

Carolyn Parrish, Liberal MP for Mississauga-Erindale, has no concern for the violence she may be fomenting or for the terror that feeds off her kind of endorsement. All she cares about is a voting block, and she believes these kinds of abhorrent statements will buy those votes.

Similar motives may be ascribed to Pat O'Brian, Liberal MP for London-Fanshawe, when he accuses Israel of creating concentration camps by building a protective barrier, but has nothing to say about decades of terrorism directed against a democratic ally. Is he selling his soul for the same unifying Liberal goal?

Even in a democracy -- especially in a democracy -- it is the duty of elected politicians to lead not to pander.

Al
